Dancewave/RBF

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Dancewave, a non-profit dance education organization founded in 1995, is dedicated to transforming lives through dance for 3,000+ NYC youth each year.

Dancewave’s mission of ensuring access to high-quality dance education and mentorship for low-income at-risk youth is realized through the Scholarship Initiative and core programs: D-Wave in Motion, arts in education outreach program in NYC public schools; School at Dancewave with classes for students 18months and up; and Dancewave Company, pre-professional dance companies for youth ages 13-18.

Dancewave also promotes dance advocacy and higher education through its nationally recognized event, ‘Dancing Through College and Beyond’, a weekend-long dance-specific college fair for 300 high school students/families and 40+ participating colleges from across the US. Phylos was hired to create a compelling and engaging institutional video highlighting Dancewave’s new messaging, their programs and the reasoning to support them by telling the inspirational student stories. As well as for raising visibility and investment for their capital campaign.  It included concept and script, production, editing and animated graphics.

IMPACT

The outcome is an inspiring storytelling video that has been key in creating brand awareness to engage educators, public/private partners, parents and new audiences while increasing the number of current and new students. It has helped position the organization as a leader in dance education.  Additionally, it has been an essential and effective fund raising tool for their capital campaign.
